Each June, the flower industry comes together for British Flowers Week, a celebration of the beauty, diversity, and sustainability of British-grown flowers. It's a time to champion local growers, highlight the importance of seasonal blooms, and raise awareness of the benefits of buying British.

As a fourth-generation flower farm, we’re proud to be part of this vibrant community of growers, wholesalers, florists, and flower lovers who share a passion for homegrown blooms. Whether you're a florist, retailer, event planner, or creative maker, British Flowers Week is the perfect moment to pause and ask: Where do my flowers come from?

Why Buy British?

While many people are becoming more conscious of where their food comes from, flowers often get overlooked. The reality is that large volumes of flowers are imported daily, travelling thousands of miles before they reach the UK. This adds significantly to their carbon footprint.

Buying British flowers means:

  • Fewer flower miles
  • Lower emissions
  • Supporting local jobs and businesses
  • Fresher, more seasonal flowers
  • Encouraging sustainable farming practices

It’s a simple change that makes a real difference.

Grown with Care for Over 40 Year

Here at Lynn South Farm, we’ve been growing flowers for almost four decades. Our family-run farm in Shropshire bursts into colour each summer with varieties like:

  • Larkspur
  • Statice
  • Statice Suworowii
  • Lagurus
  • Helichrysum
  • Craspedia
  • Nigella pods
  • Calendula
  • Cornflowers
  • Sunflowers
  • Wheat & oats

We pick everything by hand and dry the flowers on site to create long-lasting, eco-friendly products, from ready-made dried flower arrangements to biodegradable petal confetti used at weddings, in candles, wax melts, crafts, and skincare products.

A Sustainable Choice

Supporting British flower growers is about more than beauty,  it’s about making ethical, environmentally responsible choices.

Our dried flowers are:

  • Low waste – no water, no energy-intensive processes, no refrigeration
  • Biodegradable – especially important when used as confetti
  • All natural – we never use dyes or bleach
  • Long lasting – they’ll stay beautiful for months, sometimes years

Plus, they’re available all year round, no waiting for the right season!

Supporting People and Pollinators

When you buy British, you support real people behind the flowers. Our harvest team works tirelessly through the summer, often in all weathers, picking each bloom with care and precision. We’re proud to offer fair pay and a supportive working environment, and we’re even prouder of the dedication our team brings to the job.

And let’s not forget the bees. Our flower fields are a buzzing haven for pollinators, especially our much-loved cornflowers, which hum with activity on sunny days. By helping British growers thrive, you're also supporting wildlife and promoting biodiversity.
