About Battlefield 1403

Battlefield 1403 is more than just a farm shop. Located near Shrewsbury, it is one of Shropshire’s leading food destinations. The site features an award-winning butchery, a well-stocked deli counter, and a shop full of speciality local food, drink, and gifts.

Visitors can also explore the Battle of Shrewsbury Visitor Centre, visit the Falconry Centre, enjoy ride-on tractors for children, or relax in the café serving homemade food.

The Challenge: Short Shelf Life of Fresh Flowers

Battlefield 1403 previously stocked fresh flowers as part of their gifting range. However, the short shelf life made them difficult to manage within a busy retail environment.

Fresh flowers require regular replacement and careful stock management, and unsold stems often led to wastage. As a result, profit margins were limited. The team were looking for a longer-lasting floral product that would complement their gift offering while reducing waste.

The Solution: Dried Flower Bouquets

We supplied a selection of ready for retail dried flower bouquets, handmade at our Shropshire flower farm.

Dried flowers provide a practical alternative to fresh blooms. Their long-lasting nature means they can stay on display for months without losing their beauty, making them ideal for farm shops and gift retailers.

Each bouquet arrives carefully wrapped and ready for retail, allowing the Battlefield team to simply place them on display. The bouquets are available in a range of colourways, making them suitable for gifting throughout the year.

Why Battlefield 1403 Chose LSF Wholesale

Supporting local businesses is an important value for Battlefield 1403. Much of the produce in their shop is home-grown or sourced locally, with a focus on low food miles, freshness, and traceability.

LSF Wholesale aligns with these values. Our fourth-generation family flower farm is located just 30 miles away, where we grow British flowers sustainably and handcraft dried bouquets in our Petal Shed.

This shared commitment to local sourcing and quality made LSF Wholesale a natural fit for their retail offering.

The Results

By introducing dried flower bouquets, Battlefield 1403 was able to expand their gifting range with a product that is both attractive and practical for retail.

Key benefits include:

  • Long shelf life – No risk of flowers reaching a sell-by date
  • Reduced waste – Dried flowers can stay on display for months
  • Retail-ready packaging – Easy to merchandise in-store
  • Seasonal colourways – Suitable for gifting throughout the year
  • Local sourcing – Supporting a nearby Shropshire flower farm

The dried bouquets fit naturally within the farm shop’s gift offering and provide customers with a beautiful, long-lasting alternative to fresh flowers.
